Fatima Roque is Pharmacist, with Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences and with Master in Drug Technology. She is also a Regulatory Affairs Specialist at Portuguese Pharmacist College. Currently, she is Adjunct Professor at Health Sciences School of Polytechnic of Guarda in the area of pharmacology, pharmacotherapy, and pharmacoepidemiology. Involved in research projects, funded by the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT), in the area of Pharmacoepidemiology, Public Health, and Pharmaceutical Care. Her research interests are in Drug Utilization Studies; Pharmaceutical Care; Pharmacoepidemiology; Public Health; Pharmacovigilance and Drug Risk Management; Clinical Pharmacology; Qualitative Studies; Observational studies; Educational interventions studies; Controlled Randomized studies; Regulatory Affairs. She is responsible for funded projects in the field of polymedication and older patients’ adherence and is co-responsible for funded projects in the field of antibiotic and bacterial resistance. She is a member of several national scientific and professional societies (Associação Portuguesa de Epidemiologia, Ordem dos Farmacêuticos and Sociedade Portuguesa de Farmacologia) and international societies (European Association for Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics, International Epidemiological Association, International Society of Pharmacovigilance, International Society of Pharmacoepidemiology and Drug Safety and represents his institution at the Pharmaceutical Care Network Europe). In 2016, she was awarded the Clinical Epidemiology Prize, awarded by the Sociedade de Ciências de Médicas de Lisboa, in 2016.
